From AI Hype to Execution – Levering Paradigm’s Value Proposition to AI Production

AI cannot succeed in a silo. Paradigm’s core service offerings bring 36 years of experience helping organizations make sense of new technology and trends.

by Steve Engel

Not more than six months ago Paradigm took a step forward by releasing our AI Strategy & Roadmapping and our AI Data Audit & Readiness Assessment offerings (read more about those here if you’re interested From AI Hype to Execution: Introducing Paradigm’s AI Strategy and Data Readiness Offerings).  We realized quickly through AI engagements and general discussions on AI advancement that many organizations not only need this support, but the majority have expedited their efforts from experimentation/piloting with use cases to actual enterprise adoption and integration.

They are now asking the questions…

Paradigm’s AI offerings certainly have this focus and drive organizations to this conclusion, however it has also become evident with our clients that our foundation of broader capabilities and services are fundamental to delivering on “AI Production”.  More specifically, as you consider our services in relation to the technology architecture stack and how we have assisted organizations for over 36 years in successfully adopting many technology innovations associated with their business transformations, we can be considered a go-to organization for support across all facets of the business, data, application and technology layers of the architecture.

As an example, there is a need to address demand prioritization challenges as requests for AI applications and AI ready data needs extrapolate beyond the use case pilots.  Our project management consultants are experiencing this and are helping organizations implement governance frameworks that rationalize executive sponsorship, maintain clear decision rights as delivery federates, and establish monitoring for production AI systems.  This is similar to how our project management consultants helped rationalize functionality for ERP implementations in recent years or rationalize the modernization of key systems and related data model migrations to the cloud.

AI driven ROI is only achieved through AI driven transformation – which in turn requires shifting from automating legacy workflows to redesigning business processes for AI’s capabilities.  Gartner analysis reveals that change prioritization must be guided by four criteria: points of friction, structural disruption, cross-functional impact, and value/measurability.  Business analysts in AI engagements act as translators between business requirements and AI solutions, ensuring organizations move beyond experimental pilots into production-ready implementations.  In fact the primary function, as a business analyst in AI consulting, is bridging business strategy and technology implementation.   Paradigm business analysts have been assisting organizations with this bridging activity through business process redesign, business & application integration, and business & application conversion since the inception of the role – which is the same needs when it comes to AI production needs.

When organizations are considering QA and testing needs related to AI, Gartner states that “… traditional QA methodologies are fundamentally inadequate for AI-powered applications. Unlike deterministic systems, AI combines probabilistic components—particularly large language models (LLMs)—that produce variable behavioral distributions impossible to predefine. Your testing strategy must extend from preproduction validation into production through shift-right testing practices, enabling continuous detection, containment and response to problematic AI behaviors as they occur.”

As such, QA and testing consultants should be in much higher demand and our Paradigm QA and testing teams are ramping up our capabilities to include human-in-the-loop review processes/ approaches to support all clients in their AI investments.

Finally, AI implementations more than just deployment support for the new technologies – they demand organizational change management to succeed.  Again according to Gartner, “… by 2028, organizations that prioritize OCM within AI initiatives are 2.5 times more likely to achieve target outcomes and lasting competitive advantage.”  The orchestration between humans and intelligent AI agents will be fundamental to organizational change management supports in the future and our Paradigm OCM and trainers have succeeded in focussing on this aspect of any/all consultancy projects with clients since OCM was a specific identified need.

Successfully moving AI from hype and experimentation into production requires much more than just technical expertise. It takes a coordinated approach that brings together the right people, processes, and governance to ensure AI solutions deliver meaningful business value that actually moves the needle. While AI specialists and technical teams play an essential role, established consulting disciplines remain equally as important. Our Project Managers provide the structure and oversight to move initiatives forward, Business Analysts ensure solutions align with business needs and objectives, QA/Testers maintain  critical Human in the Loop (HITL) oversight, and Organizational Change Managers help people and organizations adapt to new ways of working.

We understand that AI cannot succeed in isolation. It succeeds when technology, business priorities, and people come together in a way that makes sense for your organization’s unique goals, needs, and realities.

The technology may be new, but the fundamentals of successful transformation haven’t changed. The question isn’t just what AI can do, but what organizations need to do to make it work. Every organization’s journey will look different, and that’s where Paradigm’s 36 years of experience helping organizations navigate change and adopt new technologies can make a difference.
